At about $200, my monthly earnings for August did not set any records, however I did reach a new monthly high for Text Link Ads. I also received my first donation, thus opening the door to a new potential revenue stream. Like investing in stocks and a retirement plan, diversification is key.
Based on my experience thus far, some of my streams may only pay once a year (Google AdSense, which has a $100 threshold for payout), while others have become dependable monthly sources of income (Text Link Ads, $25 threshold).
Diversifying is akin to fishing with a net, instead of a fishing rod. You could be using the fanciest fishing rod in the world, yet you can still only catch one fish at a time! Improve your catch by adopting a net mentality.

Nice blog, is it new? I love reading about people’s progress in the web earnings world. Diversification is definately a key and something I’m always striving for, although not always successfully. A year ago Adsense was my only earner which made me pretty nervous. I’ve managed to find some other revenue streams but am always looking for more. It’s something I don’t really dedicate a lot of time to but once I get my sites set up and hit the road I think this will be an area I explore more.

Welcome to my newest endeavor! As you know by now, I was inspired by your web earnings (and those of the original “working nomad”). Blog to Travel is only 5 posts old.
I wanted to share my experiences making money online, however it didn’t feel appropriate to continue discussing it on my backpacking blog. I’ve really narrowed my focus there, and want to keep it that way.
Starting a second blog has been liberating. I’ve enjoyed working with a new 2-column theme, and getting it up and running has been far easier now that I know what I’m doing!

I just posted my Sept and Oct earnings! I had to sideline my drive to start new blogs as a result of my upcoming trip around the world. I love this domain though, and intend to keep it, and hopefully post at least once a month to share what I’m earning. Who knows, it may play a bigger role for me down the line.
