A few months ago I began to use Google Spreadsheets when I realized it would allow me to easily access and edit my ‘Round the World Trip Plan while on the road. The editing functions and charts are a bit rudimentary, however it’s still a Beta service, and Google appears committed to making regular improvements.

More recently, I began to track my web earnings and expenses via this service. As much as I don’t like to think about it, I will have to report my earnings on my 2007 income taxes, and having the information at my fingertips will make it easier to file online from anywhere in the world (I hope).

Also, it is a great way to share Word and Excel files online, without the need for visitors to own Microsoft Word or Excel.

I’ve been searching around for some time planning software to help me make a simple daily plan. I found downloaded a trial of Aceplanner and it looked promising with its function of automatically insertin all repeating tasks such as my shifts at work, classes at school, when to buy grocery and do the daily chores. And then I figured I could better see when I should do my homework and work on my websites to be.
However there was some problem with the software and I’m guessing it is conflicting with my new Windows Vista, guess I’ll just have to wait till that bug gets worked out.
I ended up doing most of the daily plan schedule by hand, with some aid from my printer/scanner/copier (that also has problems with Vista).
But after seeing this I’m taking a better look at Google docs, do you do any kind of time sensitive plan? Like destinations in any given month or such? Do you know how to use this thing for the purpose I described?

    Webjourneyman –

It sounds like you’re looking for a really detailed daily planning strategy, and I don’t think Google Spreadsheets fits that need. It’d be too labor intensive in my opinion. Using Microsoft Excel on my PC is far faster than trying to use Google. In fact, I find it easier to upload/download the Google spreadsheets to my PC when I want to make design changes.

Personally, I use a dry erase board at home to plan my days and weeks (very old school).
